Any solid materials that are deemed to cause problems with the health of humans or animals and the environment are classed as hazardous waste. This can include materials that are toxic, flammable or corrosive and it is paramount that they are treated with caution and disposed of safely and carefully.
Typically, hazardous waste disposal is sought by businesses. This is due to industrial and manufacturing settings being the leading producers of hazardous waste. Although, the common household collects its fair share of hazardous waste that will require disposing of, such as oils, solvents, aerosols and batteries. All of which should be disposed of safely and legally.
